Ask a Greek where to find the best beaches and most will agree you must go to Milos. Sculpted from limestone, basalt, and petrifiied volcanic ash, Milos has the otherworldly quality of Santorini. But there are no cliff-hanging villages here — only humble fishermen's shacks (syrmata) and pretty little fishing ports. You'll also find catacombs, chapels, and mineral mines. But to see the Venus of Milo, you'll have to go to the Louvre.
